Biography

AND

I've had a love for making things with my hands and art since I was born, as a genetic inheritance from numerous skilled craftsmen in my family. Art has never been something that I 'woke up' to at some point, it has always been there, deep inside me. I can't put my art into words or separate it into a separate subject, it is and always has been.

My career as a visual artist started a long time ago, when I completed my photojournalism studies. With a photograph, I can stop time for a fraction of a second, capture the atmosphere, and capture that fleeting moment that can never be regained.

The saying "a picture is worth a hundred words" is very true. Many words are needed to describe one picture, and yet the listener can understand the words in a completely different way when the narrator describes it. The image can be viewed, unchanged and is always the same, everyone can create their own story based on the image, people tend to build a story around the image.

A photograph is always a split-second freeze in time. Often there is much more in the picture, either by accident or on purpose, than what the photographer intended to photograph. The image can be further processed, to get the desired look, and the same process also works in paintings.

Painting is image manipulation with a brush. Each stroke of the brush changes the seen or imaginary image into a story that the artist has built around it, however, still leaving the viewer and the art experiencer the freedom to interpret the image and atmosphere from their own starting points, forming their own story from it. One picture and a hundred or a thousand stories tell about the limitless possibilities of the world of art!

They say art begins when copying stops, but but...It is also said that all the pictures have already been taken and all the rest are copies of these old ones.

Some of the artists use their own or others' photos, or even works, as the basis or guidelines for their work. And if not completely directly, then at least as a source of inspiration. Still, the works are always the artist's own interpretation, and everyone adds layers based on their own experience, turning the starting point into a completely different and independent work.
